Countdown
to carnage

Barnaby Joyce: meet Harry. He is one of 500 Aussie sheep who were being illegally held in the Al Rai market in Kuwait. If your live export laws worked, none of them would have been there. We gave you 8 weeks’ notice to act. But you didn’t. And things went from bad to worse. When the Festival of Sacrifice began Harry and his mates were stuffed into car boots in 50°+ heat. They were manhandled and brutally slaughtered. Streets ran red with their blood. Harry was only there because live exporters broke your laws — yet again.

THIS CRISIS HAD A LONG, SORDID PAST

Demand urgent action

Barnaby Joyce says ‘no one is above the law’, but in Kuwait, live exporters have been breaking laws for years — culminating in a frenzy of cruelty during the Festival of Sacrifice.

There was no happy ending for these animals. Minister Barnaby Joyce could have intervened at any moment to help these animals — but he didn't. Inconceivably, his Department instead allowed three further shipments of Australian sheep to be sent into this chaos.

Ask your MP to support a ban on live export and end this cruelty for good.
