5 Investigations. 7 Countries. 1 Conclusion.

Dear Friends,

In December Animals Australia's investigators returned to the Middle East. The many hours of footage obtained revealed the depths that the live export industry is prepared to stoop to protect their profits. Their claims that cruel treatment of animals is 'isolated' and that training courses are 'successful' are graphically revealed as false by the overwhelming evidence documented.

During a radio interview in Adelaide last February Kevin Rudd, then Opposition leader, was asked to comment on footage of cruelty to exported animals filmed by Animals Australia in the Middle East.

Mr Rudd said, "I cannot abide animal cruelty and if there was anything which lies within the Commonwealth's powers to make sure that sort of abuse does not occur within this industry, let me assure you, it will happen."

Kevin Rudd is now the Prime Minister of Australia. Since making these comments, two further investigations by Animals Australia in the Middle East have confirmed the extensive and endemic cruelty to Australian animals throughout the region.

In his first months as leader of this nation Mr Rudd has set about righting injustices that no other leader has had the courage to do.

We must make protecting the welfare of some 4 million Australian animals each year, and sending a strong message to the Middle East that animals and their welfare matters, the next on Mr Rudd's list.

5 investigations, 7 countries, 1 conclusion Mr Rudd... Live export must end.

Please unite with us to tell the Prime Minister that Australians don't want to be world leaders in a cruel and immoral trade.
