Join the Easter Facebook makeover
8 March 2012 Have your say
This year we want to give Facebook a makeover during World Week for Animals in Laboratories (April 21 – 29) to unite Facebook citizens against cruelty and help raise awareness about animal testing. But we need your help to do it!

Many people don't know that some of the most popular brands of cosmetics and household products are still tested on animals. Buying cruelty-free sends a critical message to the big animal abusers like Colgate/Palmolive, Procter & Gamble, and L'Oreal, and helps to free animals from painful and lethal tests in laboratories.
Simply by changing your Facebook profile pic you can help show others how easy it is to be cruelty-free, and give bunnies a break this Easter. Let's get thousands of bunnies on Facebook demanding an end to animal testing!
To join the makeover simply follow these steps:
- Click here to download the campaign image and save it to your hard drive.
- Sign in to Facebook and on your profile page hover your mouse over your profile picture and select Edit Profile Picture > Upload photo...
- Select the campaign image that you downloaded to your hard drive.
That's it! To make an even bigger impact, make sure you tag your friends in the picture so that they can discover how to join the makeover too! Here's how:
- On your Profile page, click Photos
- Click Profile Pictures
- Click on the newly uploaded campaign picture
- Click Tag Photo and then click in the centre of the image and enter the name of one of your friends. Repeat to tag other friends.
- You can also click the edit symbol to add your own description to the photo. Here you might like to explain to your friends why you think animal testing needs to end.
Don't forget to like the Animals Australia facebook page to see hundreds of other caring Facebook citizens joining in with you!

Millions of cats, dogs, rabbits, mice and other animals are still poisoned, burned and killed each year for cruel and unnecessary consumer animal tests.

To that end, I would like to ask if you would consider adding to your Easter Plea. Back in 1991; The Foundation for a Rabbit Free Australia patternted 'The Chocolate Easter Bilby'. Most people are completely unaware of what they are doing when they puchase these Bilby Alternatives.
Part of the money made from every chocolate bilby goes towards the Foundation, Feral.org & the Centre for Invasive Species to continue to fund their extermination of the wild rabbit population.
Whether rabbits are considered pests or not; PET RABBITS also suffer as a result. The funding coming from these Chocolate Bilbies, firstly distributed by Haighs Chocolate, went into importing another TEN STRAINS of Rabbit Haemmorragic Disease, (of which the vaccine is illegal in Australia. My own rabbit died from this horror. I would love to see you guys add a bit of a highlight on the Chocolate Bilby Issue as people need to know that they are not just buying an Aussie Alternative to the Easter Bunny... they are contributing funding to rabbit expirementation.
