As part of the Pimp My Pizza 2010 competition, Animals Australia supporter Jacqui Townsend has created a delicious cruelty-free pizza that is now available at Bimbo Deluxe (Fitzroy) and Lucky Coq (Windsor) for only $5.
Not only is this sure to be the yummiest, healthiest and cheapest pizza in Melbourne, but 50¢ from each pizza sold is donated to Animals Australia.
Jacqui's mouth watering meal, named Pizza Uno, is so scrumptious, it's in the finals of the competition and if it proves the most popular, a very generous donation of $2000 will be made to Animals Australia.
Pizza Uno consists of a gourmet crispy pizza base with lashings of rocket, oven roasted tomatoes and garlic, soya cheese, sprinkled with toasted pinenuts and kalamata olives ... it's enough to make your tummy rumble!
This is a great initiative, and no doubt animal lovers Australia-wide will be keen to show their support. So the competition organisers have made it possible to vote for your favourite pizza online. A simple click of the mouse could help Jacqui and her favourite charity take out the grand prize, even if you're not lucky enough to live in walking distance of two of the best pizza joints in Melbourne.
A few full Animals Australia Unleashed members are sure to need that brisk walk home after holding their own pizza eating contest at Bimbo's. To ensure they got in as many votes and donations for Animals Australia as possible, these hungry pizza lovers ordered as many Pizza Uno's as they could possibly fit in their bellies! The results were very promising ... and no animals were harmed in the making of this video.
