179 greyhound owners & trainers charged with sending Aussie dogs to certain death in China

A public outcry followed Animals Australia's investigation into the cruel practice of exporting Aussie dogs to 'run for their lives' at Macau's notorious Canidrome. Today we are one step closer to justice.

LAST UPDATED: 14 June 2016

Dogs kept in barren concrete cells and ruthlessly discarded when they're injured or too slow — all of them dead within three years — this is the Canidrome. Australian airlines responded to overwhelming community concern, refusing to fly any more racing dogs to Asia and effectively ending the trade. The fight is still on to protect Irish dogs from taking their place. But now, crucially, 179 people have been charged with these unauthorised exports from Australia.
