Greyhound cruelty EXPOSED -- speak out!

ABC's 7.30 has exposed shocking allegations of doping, cruelty and corruption in the greyhound racing industry.

PUBLISHED ON: 15 October 2013

For many Australians, dogs are beloved family members. But, sadly, for thousands of greyhounds across the country, life is not so rosy. Watch 7.30's story below:

As revealed by 7.30, the Australian greyhound industry is rife with accusations of dogs being drugged to race faster with cocaine, caffeine, anabolic steroids... even Viagra. And up to 40% of greyhounds bred never even make it onto the track, with 17,000 of these naturally gentle and affectionate dogs discarded and killed by the industry each year. Many are shot or bludgeoned to death — meaning that the dogs who are euthanased by lethal injection are the 'lucky' ones.
