A damning admission from Greyhounds Australasia to the killing of up to 17,000 dogs and pups annually has reignited calls to shut down greyhound racing. Channel 10's 'The Project' highlighted the latest revelation that could be the nail in the coffin for this deadly industry ...

Seven months after major investigations by Animals Australia and Animal Liberation Queensland exposed widespread and extreme cruelty within greyhound racing ... things have gone from bad to worse for one of the country's cruellest industries.

Channel 10's The Project covered the latest from the NSW Special Commission of Inquiry into Greyhound Racing, featuring an interview with Animals Australia's Communications Director, and a greyhound trainer who said it was "not logical" for greyhound racing (or horse racing for that matter) to not result in the deaths of animals:

Obviously zero (dog deaths) would be acceptable ... but it's not logical ... can any governing body be it horses, greyhounds, trotters ... can they get to zero? And I guarantee you, they wouldn't be able to guarantee to anyone that zero would be possible.Sean O'Connell, Greyhound Trainer
