The horse racing industry rakes in billions of dollars on the back of horses that are routinely whipped, injured, and slaughtered when they're not 'profitable' anymore. A recent exposé revealed the brutality that young and healthy horses face when they're discarded by the racing industry — and public outrage has led to many people declaring they will no longer bet on or attend a horse race.
If you're one of the caring people who wants to celebrate compassion — not cruelty — to horses, thankfully there are many groups in Australia actively working to create a world in which horses are treated with compassion, and loved not for what they can win, but for who they are...
