Veteran vegan athletes run around Australia for charity

Do you have plans for 2013? Maybe eating more healthily, or getting more exercise? How about running a marathon... every day for the whole year?

PUBLISHED ON: 4 December 2012

Accomplished endurance athletes Alan Murray and Janette Murray-Wakelin are planning to run around Australia in 2013, to raise funds for Animals Australia and a number of other charities. Oh, and did we mention they're both on the golden side of 60 years old, and raw vegans to boot!

After 42 years of marriage and conscious living, the caring and determined couple will run over 15,000km to promote compassion for animals, people and the planet. The first leg of their journey will be to Canberra to show our pollies who is really running the country.

Powered by plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and with a passion for a kinder world, the duo is sure to open hearts and minds wherever they go — and inspire others to make their own positive changes.

To follow Janette and Alan in their amazing adventure, visit their website or Facebook page. There are also a number of important ways you can support them:
