Live export investigations (pre-2011)

Between 2003 and 2010, Animals Australia conducted numerous investigations into the treatment of Australian animals in the Middle East. On every occasion shocking cruelty was uncovered.

PUBLISHED ON: 20 May 2011

Animals Australia's live export investigations in the Middle East have revealed that the millions of animals who died en route may well have been the fortunate ones. They have also revealed Australia's live export industry's culpability in the cruel treatment of all animals in the region. Millions of local people throughout the region believe that Australians approve of their treatment of animals due to our willingness to supply them.

Rather than inspiring desperately needed change we are reinforcing long held beliefs that this treatment of animals is acceptable and that animals are simply property to be traded and slaughtered.
